What's the news?

An unfortunate side effect of horizontal drilling is the release of toxic levels of benzene diminishing air quality and in turn, our health.

We have added a link on the left navigation menu to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) where you can keep up with air monitoring activities of the Barnett Shale. TCEQ also has a tab for water related topics.

Drilling Status Update

You might have noticed that the drilling rig is no longer in view on the West horizon. The drilling is complete and the digging has begun for the pipeline along the West side of I-35 W.

Check back often for updates!

See Wynne-Jackson's Lease Amendment in the Research Documentation list.

Status on Title Attorney Case

Many of you are already involved in the civil suit against the title companies being represented by Attorney Marilyn Lahr. The cases may be close to resolution. Ms. Lahr is working with an expert who will provide the title company with a valuation methodology. Once that has been done, Ms. Lahr is hopeful a reasonable settlement will be reached.

Ms. Lahr took this case on contingency, which means this costs you no money out of pocket. If you have not done so already, I urge you to contact Ms. Lahr to determine if you are eligible to participate in this civil suit.

The Star-Telegram recently published this article regarding the circumstances of title insurance rules with commentary from Ms. Lahr herself.

HOA REFORM - HOUSE BILL NEEDS OUR SUPPORT

If you believe the HOA has too much power and you really feel passionate about making a difference then perhaps your energy would be better spent focused on the HOA reform effort being sponsored by Texas House of Representatives, Carrollton, Texas, Representative Burt Solomons.

Please take the time to peruse these resolutions and if you wish to support them, I urge you to contact our local state representative, Tan Parker, and let him know you want his support. They might not cover all of our immediate grievances but it is a step toward a more positive solution.
